Hi, I'm Ryan Lackey. The biggest thing you should know about me is that I'm extremely into social media and I love the internet. I post videos on YouTube, I am constantly on Tumblr, and I love to have people know what I'm doing and accomplishing. My dream career right now would be getting partnered for YouTube (get paid through Google) and just live off that but currently I work at GAP Outlet.
I was born in California and have never moved from it. I plan to move to Arizona with a good friend at the end of my career here at SRJC. When I started at this college I didn't want to be here and I really have never felt comfortable in a classroom setting. I flunked my first year at the JC and I'm just trying my hardest to get out and get my AA. I can't decide if on what I want to do with my life but I do know it will be in digital art. The reason why I'm not too motivated in college is because for Graphic Design, Web Design, and some aspects of Film I don't feel like you need a piece of paper to do it or be good at it.
I'm a hands on learner and I typically like to get things done day one they are provided to me so I don't have to worry about them later on. If I take too long to do something I won't do it. I want to learn how to write better so that when you read my essays it makes sense. A lot of teachers in the past have told me I write like Im talking to you which is bad and I shouldn't do it.
Hi Ryan,
ReplyDeleteYou are right we really are a lot a like. I love digital media and I spend most of my day on the internet or at least on the computer. Working with google would be a great career, but I don't think I could stand it for to long.
I also doodle when teacher are talking. Okay I only do that in math and history classes, which are the only two classes that I can't stand.
It's nice to met you, well viturally met you at least.
(: Ryan
ReplyDeleteThanks...I'm glad that reading my post made you smile.
Hi Ryan,
ReplyDeleteWhen I finished my degree in Colorado, I decided to move to either Washington or Arizona. Washington won, but since then, I've always wondered about Arizona. The thought of moving there must provide some incentive to complete your degree.
I like to get things done as soon as possible too. I don't want to worry about it, and I don't want to forget about it.
It takes a while to get used to Academic discourse. The rules are quirky, yet strict. It helps to keep your audience in mind. You'll change your tone, language and organization to fit the audience you're addressing.
I'm looking forward to working with you.
Take care,
Lauren
Ryan,
ReplyDeleteAfter a long day at work you can find me social networking or on the internet as well. A career that you enjoy in inportant and somthing most people do not possess. It sounds like you have an exciting career ahead of you.
That little piece of paper seems insignificant but is beneficial. Here I am, taking English 100, my last class and I will have that little piece of paper in my hand. Even though I am in a good position in my career path, my manager stated that if I had a degree I would make more money and advance to the next level quicker. I just need to get through this English class and I am there.
I look forward to working with you.

I agree school has never bin my strong point and because I think in reality if you really need to know the square root of some ridiculous number multiplied by another ridiculous number you can just look it up. But the more I go through each class you learn more than just book smarts also but good experience you can use in daily life. As far as your graphic design interest stick with it that a good career with lots of diverse jobs.
